The Grand Prairie Police Department staff is thoroughly trained in their respective duties. The Training Section of the police department provides this training or facilitates the training through outside providers.
This ensures that our officers maintain the in-service mandated training required by TCLEOSE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education).
The Training Section of the police department also provides training related to current trends in the varied areas of law enforcement and the maintenance of training records for personnel. The firearms qualifications of each officers is also maintained by the Training Section.
