The Grand Prairie Police Department is a pro-active agency committed to the philosophy of community oriented policing.

At the end of fiscal year 2006, our department responded to approximately 319,209 calls for service. The 211 sworn officers and 181 civilians employed by the Grand Prairie Police Department are committed to providing our diverse and ever growing community of approximately 145,600 citizens with the best customer service available.

We fully believe that a strong partnership between the police department and its citizens is essential in making our city a safer place to work and call home.
